Suzanne Potts began her career in early childhood education in 2005 with a home daycare. After stepping away in 2007 to earn a bachelor's degree in business, she returned to the field in 2013. Since then, Suzanne has transformed Discovery Daycare from the ground up into a thriving business. Working with her daughter, she moved the home daycare to center-based in 2020.
Alysabeth Potts, daughter of Suzanne, cofounded Discovery Daycare in 2013 at only 16 years old. Working afternoons and summers, she built her experience based on the teachings of her mother and career coaches in the childcare field. Alysabeth completed her ECE (Early Childhood Education) associates degree in 2017 and later opened a daycare center alongside her mother in 2020.
Tara Potts, who joined the family through Suzanne’s son, has consistently demonstrated her reliability as both a hardworking professional and a devoted caregiver since 2015. With three children of her own, a nursing background, and a degree in early childhood education, Tara offers valuable expertise in our childcare center.
Donna Bender, also known as Noni, is the matriarch of the Potts family. She brings a wealth of experience from high-volume food service environments and has an extensive background working in the foster care and childcare system.
Debra High, or Mamaw, is Tara Potts' grandmother. She has a diverse background, having worked in childcare and management positions in various fields.
In collaboration with STAND UP, Inc., Discovery Daycare hosts several volunteers alongside their career coaches, offering them invaluable hands-on experience that would otherwise be hard to come by. These volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the daycare community.
